The networks of TNT Express and FedEx are largely complementary, given that FedEx’s strength is providing US domestic and extra-EEA international services, while TNT Express’ focus is on providing intra-European services. On a daily basis, TNT Express delivers close to one million consignments ranging from documents and parcels to palletised freight. FedEx and TNT Express anticipate making a filing in the U.S. before the end of the calendar year.

UPS Triples The Size Of Louisville Package Facility

US 10/29/15Louisville, KY$300 million ground sorting facility expansion addresses package growth, to add 300 jobsUPS (NYSE:UPS) announced it will triple the size of its “Centennial” ground package sorting facility in Louisville and will nearly double package processing rates. The facility provides pickup and delivery operations for customers in Louisville and surrounding counties and serves as a transfer point for trailers moving to destinations beyond Kentucky. Separate from UPS Worldport® international air hub, this project will cost an estimated $300 million and should be substantially completed by 2018. Label applicators will place “smart labels” on packages for local delivery, providing UPS loaders and sorters faster instruction of proper loading. It also supports end-of-runway express service due to its proximity to the UPS Worldport facility.

Deutsche Post DHL Group defines Global Forwarding IT renewal path and addresses potential earnings exposure to ensure success of Strategy 2020

The DHL divisions will contribute a minimum of EUR 1.65 billion. The earnings forecast for 2016 is not affected by the named measures: consolidated EBIT is expected to reach between EUR 3.4 billion and EUR 3.7 billion in 2016. The PeP division is likely to account for more than EUR 1.3 billion of this and the earnings contribution of the DHL divisions is forecasted to range from EUR 2.45 billion to EUR 2.75 billion.
